Macrophotography requires getting up close and personal with your subject. In many instances the photograph will be life size or larger so the focus must be very sharp or detail will be lost. Special lenses are required to obtain focus this close to the subject. The most difficult part of this type of photography is obtaining a good exposure. Effectively lighting up your subject is difficult when your lens is so close. There just isn’t much room to work with. This butterfly was less than 3 inches away from the end of my lens when I snapped the shot. |
