American Legion Post 1118

Static Display Project

Cold Brook, NY

These photos show the location of the pads that we poured 11 October 2003 for the static displays.  You can click on the pictures to view enlargements (note: larger pictures take a while to load).

Bright and early Saturday morning the truck arrived.

Putting the finishing touches on the northern pad in front of the building.

A panoramic view of Route 8 in front of the Legion building.  Left is south (into the village of Cold Brook), right is north.  The picture is taken from across the street on the north bound side of Route 8, facing West.

This is a view of the freshly poured pads taken from the second floor of the Legion building.  The relationship between the pads, the flagpole and Route 8 can be clearly seen in this picture.

This is a picture of the tank and mortar carrier as they currently sits awaiting transportation sometime after the snow melts.

Here are the tanks in place in front of the Legion.

These plaques were presented on March 25, 2004, to the local businesses that donated their time and effort into moving the tanks into their current position.
